How we use AI
Updated September 14, 2026
We use AI tools to build and write parts of this site. Here is exactly where.
Where AI is involved
- Writing the software that loads state license files and builds these pages.
- Drafting page text, such as the guidance on city pages.
Where it is not
- License data. Company names, phone numbers, cities, and license numbers come from the state’s files. AI does not invent, fill in, or change them. Names are converted from the state’s all-capitals style by a fixed rule, not by AI.
- Decisions about companies. No AI judges, scores, or ranks a company.
How we keep drafted text honest
Every factual claim in drafted text must quote a primary source — such as a state licensing agency — and link to it with the date we read it. For example, the Texas mold rules on our city pages quote the TDLR knowledge base word for word. A person reviews drafted pages before they are published.
